“Greenwich Democrats Look to Victory in November and Beyond At Annual Picnic” (Greenwich Post; September 15, 2011)

Mr. Marzullo, whom Mr. Farricker praised as “arguably the most popular officeholder in the town of Greenwich” and “the heart of the community,” said the slate of candidates was the best the party had seen. An EMT with Greenwich Emergency Medical Services, Mr. Marzullo pledged to keep focusing on quality of life issues and on keeping The Nathaniel Witherell town owned while making sure the selectmen’s office would be responsive to the people. “We need to campaign like the underdog, because we are,” Mr. Marzullo said. “This once very red town we live in is changing. It might not be blue yet, but let’s call it purple.”

“Apple Heeds Opposition to Building a Fence Inside Its Greenwich Store” (Greenwich Time; September 9, 2011)

“Selectman Drew Marzullo met with a trio of Apple executives Wednesday at Town Hall to try to get the tech giant to rethink its controversial plan to beef up security at the store, which has been targeted several times by thieves.

“They’re going to hold off, but are reserving the right to re-examine their security at the store,” Marzullo said. He added that if problems persist at the 356 Greenwich Ave. location, it may warrant extra security measures.

“I’m cautious not to speak for Apple and cautious not to comment on decisions that they might have to make in the future based on their security needs,” Marzullo said. “But for now, I am both satisfied and happy.”

“Greenwich Goes Glam with Fashion’s Night Out” (Greenwich Time; September 9, 2011)

“Marzullo, however, was his own stylist. Clad in chinos, a navy sweater, a blue button-down, and a hot pink bow tie from Vineyard Vines, he exuded classic prep, which passerby described as “handsome” and “fabulous.”

“All I do is wear their clothes,” said Marzullo, a model for Vineyard Vines in Greenwich’s second annual Fashion’s Night Out. “In my mind, I am a model. We are all models at heart. Everyone here is really gorgeous.”

“Marzullo Floats GHS Pool As Cooling Center Location During Future Heat Waves” (Greenwich Time; August 14, 2011)

When temperatures soared into the triple digits, Greenwich opened six cooling centers from July 21 to July 24. Any decision to make use of the GHS pool could be based on similar criteria, Marzullo said. “I would much rather have people cooling off in a pool than baking in 100-degree weather,” Marzullo said. “When hot weather and humidity soars above 100, people get cuckoo.”

“Apple To Beef Up Security At Greenwich Avenue Store, Plan Roils Locals” (Greenwich Time; August 9, 2011)

“To me, it would be very unappealing to the eye and, quite frankly, I find it ugly,” Selectman Drew Marzullo said. “I think it could very well give an impression that Greenwich Avenue is unsafe for retail. We are not immune from burglaries or crime, we don’t live in a vacuum. At this point, I think installing metal gates is quite extreme.”

“Democratic Ticket for Board of Selectman Sits on More Cash Than GOP” (Greenwich Time; August 5, 2011)

“I think we’re at a disadvantage because of the numbers game,” said Marzullo, who is seeking a second term as selectman. “If you want to be a successful Democrat in this town, you have to get your message out, and that, unfortunately when you’re running for election, costs money.”

“Adams Garden Cranks Up the Volume for Community Block Party” (Greenwich Time; August 6, 2011)

“Blankley, Marzullo lead Democrats, party cements its ticket” (Greenwich Post; July 28, 2011)

“There’s a misconception out there that Greenwich is a Republican town, but that couldn’t be further from the truth,” Mr. Marzullo said. “Connecticut statistics have shown that independent voters far outweigh their registered counterparts. Currently there are 25% of registered voters [in Greenwich] that are Democrat, 38% are Republican and 36% are unaffiliated. I believe this translates into a major opportunity for us. Our party has so much to offer. Independent voters should be a key demographic for us to focus on. There should be debates on education and quality and life issue but if we can’t get our message out we will be unsuccessful. We are ready. This whole team is ready.”

“Greenwich Debates Whether to Accept $600K for Homeland Security Boat” (Greenwich Time; July 7, 2011)

The town must soon decide whether to accept $600,000 in federal port security funds for a multi-purpose homeland security boat, a grant that is dividing emergency planners and some budget hawks in the Connecticut suburb closest to New York City. The Board of Selectmen unanimously endorsed the addition of the boat Thursday, concurring with the argument of public safety officials that it would be foolish of the town not to tap into a diminishing pool of federal funds.

“Mr. Marzullo said he was ‘amazed and humbled’ to be in his position as selectman and said his two years on the board have made him even more prepared to serve the town and work with residents. He said his priorities for a new term would be to make sure the new central fire station is fully funded and that The Nathaniel Witherell, which he called a passion of his, would be renovated and remain town owned. He said he would also fight to increase affordable housing in town and would work with Mr. Blankley to make that a reality.
