Late last week, Drew sat down with representatives of Apple to urge them to reconsider installing a metal security gate at their Greenwich store. The meeting was extremely productive. Following the meeting, Apple independently decided to forgo plans to build the security gate now, but reserve the right to do so in the future.
Drew loves having the Apple store in Greenwich and sees it as an important asset to Greenwich Avenue. He notes that having them in town is a win-win for both Greenwich and the company, which Drew calls “a great corporation with a wonderful story.”
Drew understands the concern Apple has protecting its store and ensuring security at the location, something Apple is ultimately responsible for. He has thanked them for being participants in the community and listening to the concerns of Greenwich residents.
While Drew is cautious not to speak for Apple and make comments that might preempt their decisions in the future, he noted that for now he is both “satisfied and happy” with the outcome.
