Drew’s recent proposal to open the Greenwich High School pool as a cooling center during extreme heat is gaining traction in town. Drew’s proposal was well received by the other members of the Board of Selectmen and the idea is being explored further. Drew commented to the Greenwich Time:
“To me, two weeks ago felt like Greenwich moved right onto the sun,” Marzullo said. “I would much rather have people cooling off in a pool than baking in 100-degree weather. When hot weather and humidity soars above 100, people get cuckoo. It becomes dangerous. I’ve seen firsthand what heat-related emergencies look like.”
